Nurseries (schools)

  1. Bridgemere CE Primary School

    Bridgemere CE Primary School is putting together plans to extend the opening hours of its Nursery for 3 and 4 year olds from 9 until 3.30pm from January 2010 with the option of extending the day to 8 until 6.00pm using BOOST, the before and after club as well.

    If you might be interested in taking up one of the Nursery places, you are welcome to call in any Thursday morning between 9 and 11am. You will be able to meet the staff and see the facilities.

    We are a small school with 69 pupils in 4 classes. The Foundation Stage class includes Nursery and Reception. Class Two covers Year 1 and Year 2. Class Three has Year 3 and Year 4. Class 4 has Year 5 and Year 6.

    We are signposted off the A51 north of Bridgemere Garden Centre, 6 miles south of Nantwich.

Dial-a-Ride

Dial-a-Ride offers door-to-door transport for people who find ordinary buses too difficult to use.

The Dial-a-Ride organisation distributes a leaflet that fully describes its service.

You will need to fill in a Dial-a-Ride membership application form before you can use the service.

Citizens' Advice Bureau

There are branches in Nantwich, Crewe and Whitchurch, the addresses of which can be found on the Citizens' Advice Bureau website

In addition, a Citizens' Advice Bureau van visits Buerton and Audlem every Friday. The van contains a large and private consulting room.

The van can be found in Buerton on Windmill Lane opposite Windmill Close between 9.30 and 10.00 a.m.

You can visit it on Audlem car park between 10.15 a.m. and 12.15 p.m.

    The Bridge Inn is in the centre of Audlem, just over 1 mile south of Hankelow. Their telephone number is 01270-811267, and their location is shown by the red square on this map. The Bridge Inn has a car park at its rear. Access is via a metalled track between the canal and the Bridge Inn.

  3. The Shroppie Fly

    The Shroppie Fly is in the centre of Audlem, just over 1 mile south of Hankelow. Their telephone number is 01270-811772. Their location is shown by the red square on this map. Note that, despite what the map shows, there is a metalled track leading down from Shropshire Street to the Shroppie Fly's car park.

Bus timetables

Hankelow is served by buses from and to Nantwich, Whitchurch and (on Wednesdays only) Market Drayton. You can get information on bus times :-

Audlem Educational Foundation

Financial assistance is awarded to pupils and students who have not yet attained the age of 25 years and are resident in the Ancient Parish of Audlem, to enhance their education. (The Ancient parish of Audlem comprises of the civil parishes of Audlem, Buerton and Hankelow, and part of Dodcott-cum-Wilkesley and Newhall). Click here for an application form.
